NFL legend and Colorado football coach Deion Sanders reportedly will undergo emergency surgery to address a blood clot in his groin.
The news comes from former NFL cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones, appearing on a Thursday episode of “The Pat McAfee Show.” Jones claimed to have spoken to Sanders Thursday morning in regard to the procedure, adding he will undergo surgery at 6 a.m. Friday.
This is not the first time Sanders has experienced issues with clots. He revealed in March 2022 that he needed to have his big toe and second toe amputated in 2021 due to three life-threatening clots running down his leg. The initial news was revealed in the final episode of the “Coach Prime” docuseries, produced by Barstool Sports.
Sanders’ clotting issues have not subsided since. Colorado’s medical team told Sanders earlier in June he must consider a full amputation of his foot to relieve issues relating to his blood clots (via YouTube Channel Thee Program).

Sanders later addressed the surgery, confirming he will undergo a procedure to address blood clots: one each in his left and right leg. The procedure, Sanders said, is so he can get enough blood flow to straighten out what doctors diagnosed as hammer toes on his foot.
