Although Disney has was able to access both the Alien as well as Predator franchises when it bought 20th Century Fox in 2019 however, the company only been able to get these two franchises to work. In the past year, we saw the debut of the excellent Prey and a brand new Alien film (from Don’t Breathe director Fede Alvarez) as well as a television show (from The Legion’s Noah Hawley) are both being developed. As we’ve discovered that there’s a additional project which was in secretly made…it isn’t clear if it’s going to be a possibility to view the show.

On the episode in April of the Perfect Organism podcast commemorating Alien Day, 20th Century Studios former director of licensing Josh Izzo revealed an Alien in a battle. Predator animation was produced before the purchase. According to the creator, there are “10 episodes in a complete Alien Vs. Predator series of anime that I wrote,” and set between what happened in the initial Alien Vs. Predator film and Alien Resurrection. The anime has actually been in production for quite a long time. He also said that it was made prior to the production and release of both Alien Covenant and The Predator and Alien Resurrection, the two franchises’ finale films prior to purchase.

According to how Izzo said Izzo, the initial idea was an idea of making a direct-to-DVD film to Alien and Predator in their own separate units, or perhaps an AvP one. In any case, he marketed the movie as 20th Century being “the masters of our own destiny, rather than waiting until theatrical when it decides to go out.” Once he received approval from the head of consumer products and settling on the idea of an AvP series. Although he hasn’t explicitly confirmed the details, Izzo implies that the director was Shinji Aramaki (who was the director of the Adult Swim’s Blade Runner: Black Lotus). The western advisors were “unbelievably amazing talent” Eric Calderon (Afro Samurai) as well as Dave Baker.

What happens if Disney ever make this show available? This is the main question which is currently unanswered. The movie doesn’t seem to have any issues with its release. Remember it was Prey was not a theater release, as the film would’ve been released on HBO Max. Maybe it’s an issue of timing. Prey received a favourable review and a large audience during its first weekend. Disney might be eager to see how the Alien film or the show does to confirm that Prey was not a fluke, and both franchises will be a source of momentum for anime.

It might be because it’s determined to keep it from being released at just because it’s possible. We’ll never know until we are certain.
