Exploring key moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turning them on their heads, taking viewers into uncharted territory. Chadwick Boseman’s final Marvel project before his death. The Watcher: [Episode Narration Begins] Time. Space. Reality. It’s more than just a linear journey. It’s a prism of infinite possibilities, where a single choice can branch into infinite realities, creating alternate worlds from the ones you know. I am the Watcher. I am your guide through these vast new realities. Follow me and ponder the question… “What if?” When the Marvel logo appears, it transitions into an animated form in the show’s art style. Adapted for Marvel Studios: Legends: Guardians of the Multiverse (2023). A very straightforward episode of rushing to fit these pieces right into the puzzle. And my facial expression was also pretty clear while watching this episode because there was no excitement or even logical narrative, I get that it’s a fun show aimed at maybe kids? But maybe only those kids who know all of the MCU by now will enjoy it. Let’s see how the rest of the episodes turn out, but I’m definitely not very excited after this one. Edit: The second episode gave a real sense of what the MCU is about, it was creative and thoughtful with major WHAT IF moments. I thoroughly enjoyed watching T’Challa back on screen. The third episode, however, was a turning point and made me edit this review. It was so exciting and thrilling to watch that I could have watched the entire movie in this episode. It re-examined the characters we know to a level that makes you want more. I hope to get to a 10 star edit by the end of the season. Edit II: Here’s my other star for the “weird” 39; yet thought-provoking episode that was by far the best of the bunch in terms of writing, voice over, animation, and plot. Special kudos to Benedict Cumberbatch for going above and beyond as the boss. Kudos to Marvel for doing that. However, after episode 5, the episode was definitely entertaining, it was witty and engaging with quality animation, but again, it showed too much while not giving the audience enough time to absorb things. Still a 9/10 overall for the series until at least the next two episodes. They need to beat episode 4 to get a 10 from me.
