Skoda Auto India achieved a significant milestone in Q1 2026, selling 20,028 units, marking its highest-ever quarterly sales volume. This impressive performance represents a 17 percent increase over the same period last year, when they sold 17,138 units.

This remarkable growth is largely attributed to the success of their flagship model, the Kylq. Since its launch in November 2024, the Kylq has revolutionized Skoda’s sales dynamics, resetting their volume base. In October 2025, the Kylq achieved a peak of 5,078 units sold, contributing to an unprecedented monthly tally of 8,252 cars for the brand.

By Q1 2026, the Kylq had surpassed 50,000 cumulative sales, continuing its dominant run. The March 2026 figure is expected to be even higher, potentially surpassing the previous record of 7,422 units set in March 2025, thanks to consistent strong sales each month.

What the Kylq Unlocked

Before the Kylq, Skoda’s portfolio lacked a mainstream model that could appeal to a broader audience. The Kylq, with its competitive pricing starting at roughly Rs 7.89 lakh, introduced Skoda to a price point where their brand reputation and four-year warranty could gain significant traction in the sub-4 metre SUV segment.

The impact on other models has been evident. The Kushaq, for example, saw its monthly sales plummet to just 9 units in February 2026, as buyers shifted towards the Kylq and its updated variant. However, Skoda is set to revive the Kushaq with a facelifted model featuring an eight-speed automatic transmission and enhanced standard features.

The Slavia, Kodiaq, and Network Story

The Slavia sedan also contributed to Skoda’s success, selling 1,946 units in January and 1,674 units in February, indicating a genuine recovery in sedan demand. The Kodiaq, another key model, continues to be a steady performer, further strengthening Skoda’s portfolio.

Skoda India’s impressive Q1 sales can be attributed to the successful introduction of the Kylq, strategic model updates, and a growing network that caters to its expanding customer base.
