Kia India Records Best-Ever March Sales: New Seltos Leads The Blistering Run

Kia India has achieved a remarkable milestone, selling 29,112 units in March 2026, marking its highest-ever monthly wholesale dispatch since entering the Indian market in 2019. This achievement surpasses the previous best March sales by a significant margin, building upon already impressive numbers from March 2025. The year-on-year growth of 14.5% is a testament to Kia’s steady and strong performance in India.

For the first quarter of 2026 (January-March), Kia reported 84,316 units sold, a 11.6% increase over Q1 2025’s 75,576 units. These figures represent the highest sales in the company’s Indian history, both monthly and quarterly.

The newly launched Seltos, introduced in December 2025, is already making waves as Kia’s primary volume driver. With prices ranging from Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 20.19 lakh ex-showroom, the second-generation Seltos sits on a new K3 platform and offers three engine options:

  • 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (115PS)
  • 1.5-litre turbo petrol (160PS, 253Nm)
  • 1.5-litre diesel (116PS, 250Nm)

The Seltos’ rapid ascent to the top sales spot is evident within weeks of its launch, crossing 10,000 monthly sales. Its recent Bharat NCAP 5-star safety rating further bolsters its appeal, as safety has become a crucial factor in modern car purchases. The Seltos achieved its high scores thanks to advanced structural design and the use of high-strength steel.

The Sonet, another popular model, continues its strong performance with recent automatic transmission options expanding accessibility without requiring major platform changes. Competing in the compact SUV segment, it faces direct rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
