Passive Income Shifts & My Marketing DNA Test Results
Life’s Unforeseen Turns and Online Business Blessings
Whew! Life took an unexpected turn in early March, shifting my focus from full-time entrepreneurship to caring for my father. He unexpectedly fell ill with a severe kidney infection, leading to septic shock and the breaking of both his ankles within days. This left him bedridden and dependent on family for nearly two months due to complications with his ankle surgery clearance.
Despite these challenges, I feel incredibly fortunate to have my online business as a source of stability and blessings. Most of March was dedicated to family care, but surprisingly, this has been one of my best years in recent times.
Business Highlights
- February Revenue: I achieved a remarkable $10K revenue month with Merch by Amazon and over $13K total print-on-demand revenue across various platforms (Amazon, Etsy, RedBubble, Spreadshirt, Zazzle, etc.). This marks the first time my print-on-demand income surpassed my primary affiliate source.
- Merch by Amazon: While it’s a rollercoaster, I’m passionate about this opportunity but caution that it’s not guaranteed income. Treat it as vacation money!
- PSP Courses Record Month: My online courses also had an all-time high month, with podcasting remaining my primary promotion method. This shift from affiliate to course income is a long-standing business goal achieved.
The Ongoing Work of Course Launches
A common misconception is that the hardest part of launching a course is over once it’s live. However, I’ve learned through student feedback that optimization and ensuring students can execute effectively are ongoing challenges. Typically, the first version of your course will need improvements based on user feedback.
Staying Connected with Students
This year, to enhance both my teaching and student experience, I began sending weekly strategy tips to Merch Course students. This new approach has been beneficial for both myself and several students.
